Add oil and heat through, then add leek and shallots season with salt. Step 1 In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter.Step 3 Make Ahead: Ravioli can be assembled 1 day ahead.Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers. Arrange rounds on a parchment-lined sheet tray. Using your fingertips, release any air bubbles around filling. Using a 3" round cookie cutter, cut wrappers into a round. Place another wrapper on top and press the sides down along the edges to form a mound of filling in the center. Spoon about 1 heaping tablespoon lobster mixture in the center. Step 2 Brush a wonton wrapper with egg wash.Step 1 In a large bowl, mix lobster, mascarpone, ricotta, Pecorino Romano, garlic, parsley, and lemon pepper season with salt. From there you can place in a freezer-safe bag. To freeze them without sticking, lay them flat on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and freeze until solid. That way you have ravioli on the ready for a night where you just want to sink into a bowl of carbs or cook dinner for your bestie. My suggestion is to double the recipe and freeze them. Once they float to the top, that’s the indicator that they’re about done. The key is to bring the water to a gentle simmer in a large wide pot and cook accordingly. If you boil the heck out of your ravioli, you won’t have any filling left, maybe some if you’re lucky. We are used to reading in recipes “boil your pasta until…” but this is not the case for stuffed pastas. Either way, it’s more about how they taste than how they look. You could also use a ravioli cutter to make them decorative just like Grandma would do. You can simply seal the ravioli by crimping the edges with a fork. But you definitely don’t have to do this. I thought making a round ravioli out of square wonton wrappers was a good look for these guys. Caramelized leeks and shallots are just enough to complement without taking over. So why not coat your lobster with something creamy and rich, like brown butter or tomato cream sauce? It’s really up to how you want to make it, but I wanted my lobster filling to stand out the most, so I kept it simple. Having lobster ravioli feels like a luxury. I also suggest buying and using frozen lobster tail if you can’t find both tail and claw meat. You can typically buy steamed lobster at your market’s fish department. But if you want to use those lobster shells for fish stock or bisque, then go ahead and crack away. It will save you a lot of time from cracking lobster claws all day. If you want actual pasta-encased lobster ravioli, then our pasta dough is great otherwise, I promise you’re going to make these over and over again.Ĭertain stores or fish markets sell fresh or frozen steamed lobster meat, which, in my opinion, is worth your money. The wonton wrappers are so tender and light that you really only taste the decadent lobster filling. Even I can’t lie to myself about how good these came out. And guess what… they are so darn delicious. Why would the Italian in me allow that? Good question, but we wanted to make this easy for you. For this version of lobster ravioli, wonton wrappers are used instead of pasta dough. Doughs, shapes, and fillings vary tenfold. So many ideas come to mind when you think of ravioli. Metallica appeared second and played ten songs at the sold-out show at New York City's Roseland Ballroom on August 3, 1984. Metallica rehearsed the album's material at Mercyful Fate's practice room in Copenhagen. Rasmussen listened to Metallica's tapes before the members arrived and thought the band had great potential. Rasmussen, who had not heard of Metallica, agreed to work on the album, even though his studio employees questioned the band's talent. Drummer Lars Ulrich chose Rasmussen, because he liked his work on Rainbow's Difficult to Cure (1981) and was keen to record in Europe. The album was produced by Flemming Rasmussen, the founder of Sweet Silence Studios. Metallica started recording on February 20, 1984, at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hetfield gradually built confidence as lead vocalist and kept his original role. Frontman James Hetfield felt uneasy about performing double duty on vocals and rhythm guitar, so the band offered the job to Armored Saint singer John Bush, who turned down the offer because Armored Saint was doing well at the time. When not gigging, the band stayed in a rented house in El Cerrito, California, called the Metallica Mansion. An incident occurred when part of Metallica's gear was stolen in Boston, and Anthrax lent Metallica some of its equipment to complete the remaining dates. Because the band had little money, its members often ate one meal a day and stayed at fans' homes while playing at clubs across the United States. After finishing its promotional tour, Metallica began composing new material, and from September, began performing the songs that were to make up Ride the Lightning at concerts. The album helped to establish thrash metal, a heavy metal subgenre defined by its brisk riffs and intense percussion. Metallica released its debut album, Kill 'Em All, on the independent label Megaforce Records on July 25, 1983. Many rock publications have ranked Ride the Lightning on their best album lists, saying it had a lasting impact on the genre. It was certified 6× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2012 for shipping six million copies in the United States. Although 75,000 copies were initially pressed for the American market, the album sold half a million by November 1987. Ride the Lightning peaked at number 100 on the Billboard 200 with virtually no radio exposure. Two months after its release, Elektra Records signed Metallica to a multi-year deal and reissued the album. The band performed at major music festivals such as Monsters of Rock and Day on the Green later that year. Metallica promoted the album on the Bang That Head That Doesn't Bang European tour in late 1984, and on its North American leg in the first half of 1985. Ride the Lightning received a positive response from music critics, who saw it as a more ambitious effort than its predecessor. It is the last album to feature songwriting contributions from former lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, and the first to feature contributions from successor Kirk Hammett. The overall recording costs were paid by Metallica's European label Music for Nations because Megaforce was unable to cover it. Beyond the fast tempos of its debut Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened its approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies. Bassist Cliff Burton introduced the basics of music theory to the band and had more input in the songwriting. The title was taken from a passage in Stephen King's novel The Stand, in which a character uses the phrase to refer to execution by electric chair.Īlthough rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical growth and lyrical sophistication. The artwork, based on a concept by the band, depicts an electric chair being struck by lightning flowing from the band logo. The album was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ride the Lightning is the second studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released on July 27, 1984, by the independent record label Megaforce Records. Pre-ordered copies will come with alternate sculpts, including a male elf and female versions of the other three characters. HeroQuest still comes with the same four hero characters - the barbarian, dwarf, elf, and wizard - but this new version swaps the canonical gender of the elf character. That’s all in addition, of course, to whatever else Hasbro promises to throw in as the campaign’s dollar total reaches and potentially eclipses its goal.Īs O’Rourke said, this new version of HeroQuest appears to hew very close to the original, right down to the colorful game board and endearing card art. It will also feature two exclusive miniatures - the in-fiction leader of the heroic party, Mentor, and the evil WitchLord himself. The $149.99 Mythic Tier will feature all of the above, plus new versions of two rare expansion packs, Return of the Witch Lord and Kellar’s Keep. A render shows that this remake includes the game’s iconic scenery, such as a fireplace, treasure chests, a tomb, bookcases, and a torturer’s rack. This time around, HeroQuest will come with plastic doors and furniture. And it will feature four alternate gender hero sculpts and another exclusive miniature - Sir Ragnar, the object of one of the original game’s early quests - which will only be available during this campaign. It will also have a pad of traditional paper character sheets, allowing you to name your own heroes and keep track of their hit points and loot between games. It will feature more than 90 cards and six custom engraved dice - an upgrade to the original game’s painted wooden dice. The $99.99 Heroic Tier of HeroQuest will come with 71 miniatures, a game board, and a game master’s screen. This new version will include two price points during the crowdfunding campaign. 10, the Mage of the Mirror quest pack for HeroQuest sold on eBay for $810. The game had a number of expansion packs, some of which are highly sought after by collectors. It was known for having dozens of highly detailed plastic miniatures, as well as an assortment of furniture and other terrain pieces. The archetypal dungeon crawler was produced in partnership with Games Workshop, and utilized that company’s art and miniatures. The original HeroQuest was published by Milton Bradley, which Hasbro purchased in 1984. O’Rourke said that, if all goes well, there will also be a version of the game available at retail in late 2021. The crowdfunding effort begins Tuesday, and runs through 11:59 p.m. The crowdfunding campaign also brings the promise of stretch goals, which will add additional value for consumers at the campaign’s $149.99 level. “While the gameplay featured in the original 1989 version of HeroQuest will remain true,” said brand manager Patrick O’Rourke in an email interview with Polygon, “the game will be updated to deliver the high quality experience it deserves.” Fans will be able to pre-purchase a copy of HeroQuest for as low as $99.99, which will get them a revised edition of the original game with all-new miniatures and scenery (if the project is fully funded). Polygon has an exclusive first look at the lavish remake, plus the first details on exactly what’s inside the box. On Tuesday, toy and game publisher Hasbro started a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of raising $1 million in pre-order sales. HeroQuest, the classic tabletop board game, is being relaunched. I’m really a part of that outside of music, when I’m not on stage, when I’m at home. I really have friends in prison for the rest of their lives for things that they didn’t do. But me, I’m a person who really has family members who’ve been killed by the police. “It’s a never-ending saga for the people who really live in it,” says Lil Baby, “but to the world … stuff like that dies down when no one’s talking about it. It’s the reason why Mallory’s address toward the new administration during the performance (“President Biden, we demand justice, equity, policy, and everything else that freedom encompasses,” she said) became one of its crucial moments. Months after “The Bigger Picture” was released, the protests that the song helped soundtrack have died down, but the problems that they confronted have not disappeared. Nearly 24 hours after the performance, Lil Baby says that it’s gotten the biggest online reaction out of anything he’s ever done at an awards show - and he’s hopeful that such a reaction helps reminds America not to get complacent in the fight against racial injustice. Lil Baby Met Jay-Z at the 2021 Grammys & He Was on Some 'Boss Sh-' I see myself following in his footsteps.” Baby also brought his mother to the ceremony, and says, “She was a little mad that I didn’t win a Grammy, but she had fun.” Baby tweeted about meeting Jay-Z for the first time at the ceremony, and says the next day, “I’m really not that fond of meeting other celebrities, but Jay-Z is a guy who I look up to, and look up to the way he moves and the things that he’s done. Meanwhile, Mallory was brought in by Collins, creative director Fatima Reynolds and Thomas the latter describes the prominent Black Lives Matter activist as “a brave Black woman who stands up for what she believes in.”īecause Lil Baby taped his showcase a few days before the Grammys - shutting down the area outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the nighttime setup - the rapper was able to enjoy Grammy night (although “The Bigger Picture” lost in both of its categories) and watch his performance alongside the rest of the stars on hand. Lil Baby describes fellow Atlanta native Killer Mike, who performed a verse from the Run The Jewels tracks “Walking In The Snow” during the performance, as “a person I look up to as a mentor,” and a natural fit for the showcase. We wanted to show these situations to a wider audience.” Thomas adds that the performance required “months of preparation and rehearsal,” and credits Lil Baby, Grammys producer Jesse Collins, executive producer Ben Winston and the entire Quality Control brain trust (Fatima Robinson, Coach K, Ethiopia Habtemariam, Twin, Brian Nolan and Britney Davis) for helping to see it through. When Rayshard Brooks was gunned down in Atlanta – in our backyard - it hit hard. “Black communities have been dealing with police brutality for generations and I wanted to show the reality. “We’ve been thinking about this since last summer,” Thomas tells Billboard. Lil Baby says that he and Pierre “P” Thomas, CEO of Quality Control Music, had been conceptualizing the performance - which also involved Molotov cocktails, activists squaring off against a police barricade, Killer Mike stopping by for a guest verse and activist Tamika Mallory delivering a spoken-word interlude – throughout 2020, considering the showcase for other awards ceremonies but deciding to save it for Grammy night. 3 last June, the song helped define the explosion of protest music last summer in conjunction with the nationwide marches against racial injustice, and later scored Grammy nods for best rap song and best rap performance. That happened in Atlanta, and I live in Atlanta, and I’ve been in some of those same exact situations.”Īfter “The Bigger Picture” became Lil Baby’s then-highest-charting hit on the Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. I wanted to use something that stood by me. “I didn’t really want to use the George Floyd or Breonna Taylor or something. “I wanted to use a specific situation that would give people an understanding of where I come from,” Lil Baby tells Billboard the day after the Grammys.
You can change the port if you want but by default both I2P and Retroshare use port 4447. Tunnel Wizard -> Client Tunnel -> SOCKS 4/4a/5 -> enter a name -> leave ‘Outproxies’ empty -> enter port (memorize!) -> check ‘Auto Start’ -> finish! We will start configuring the tunnels we are gonna need in I2P so Retroshare has everything it needs when we configure our hidden node.įor this we will go to the router section “Local tunnels”, if you have I2P in local it should be: Īs the steps, even somehow hidden, are quite well explained in Retroshare: Once we have I2P running and our Profile created in Retroshare let’s get started. If you try to install it using the repositories you will see and error about a missing dependency, this has already been reported too and they are working on it. Then idea is to have several services (messenger, chat, file exchange, etc) that doesn’t depend on central servers (our information goes directly from one node to the other) and that they don’t need our public IP (use of I2P addresses).įortunately there is a quite some information about how to install both this softwares so I’m gonna skip that step, I only have to say that if you use Debian 8 I recommend you install Retroshare using the packet they have in github or, if you want co compile it, check a ticket I open about the dependencies as the ones in the wiki are outdated. I couldn’t test this too much due to the lack of nodes inside and outside of this networks but, with a small network of two nodes, my normal client wasn’t able to ready the hidden one and vice versa. I should explain that if we run a node this way the normal nodes will be only able to reach our node if they have configured an exit towards this networks. In version 0.6 Retroshare includes the possibility to run hidden nodes with integration for TOR and I2P, thanks to this instead of using our IP we can use onion or i2p addresses. This was the major reason why I stopped using Retroshare, even being based in a trust model I wasn’t convinced with the idea of my IP being disclosed like that. The major problem with this method is that our public IP is included in that key as Retroshare needs it to know where is our node and how to reach it. Doesn’t matter if you add somebody, if the other person doesn’t add you the connection will not happen. To be able to connect two nodes a key exchange must be done, like in GPG, with this both users allow the nodes to connect to each other. What makes Retroshare so interesting is its decentralized model where there are no servers to connect to obtain the different services, in this case, this services work in a secure way between different nodes connected between them. I2P provides the first layer of anonymity helping us hide our IP and Retroshare gives us several decentralized services. At the contrary, we are gonna have services that we already use daily but they are probably gonna me slower and have more downtime. The purpose of this post is, precisely, try to help them be more known.īut, What are the advantages of messing with this?Īt functional level? None. Neither of them is as well-known as Tor or other alternatives that we have seen even in the TV, sadly this means that the amount of help in the internet is quite limited. Today I bring you a post that combines two softwares that I have liked for a long time but that I didn’t have a lot of chances to really use them without being simple tests. It’s been a long time since I published something and it’s because I have been busy changing the blog to another server and testing several things like OSSEC that I will tell you about in future post. WARNING: This post is based in my personal opinion, I’m not trying to sell anything, and I’m not related to neither of the projects in any way. |
